Born in 1945, Harry joined a family with ten children. Harry, Sr., a produce broker and later a building constructor, employed his right hand “Little Harry” at the age of 11. Harry paid his own way through High School and Michigan State University graduating in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Husbandry. Over the next three years, Harry followed the rodeo trail west as a saddle bronc rider until he suffered career ending injuries. Afterwards, Harry attended Southern Methodist University Law School. At SMU, he graduated from the three year program in 2.25 years in the top 10% of his class and was elected student body president.

Harry first practiced law for an insurance defense firm in Twin Falls, Idaho while learning the ropes and getting lots of trial experience. When the prosecuting attorney of Twin Falls was arrested for drug possession, the Republican Central Committee asked Harry to take over an office that had a 30% conviction rate and 100% medial turnover. After two years, the office had a 92% conviction rate and 0% turnover rate. Harry earned the respect of Judges and Law Enforcement in the area.

In (-------------), Harry began a private practice preferring to represent individuals rather than career criminals. He has never represented a large corporation or business because his sympathy is with the wage-earning worker. Much to his surprise and satisfaction juries have been very sympathetic to offer justice in what is right and against what is wrong. Mr. DeHaan’s clients have found considerable satisfaction in receiving substantial sums to correct wrong actions and to compensate for unfair business practices.

Over time, Harry has achieved a solid reputation as a straight-shooting, aggressive, and competent trial attorney who will take a large, difficult and complex case, reduced it to its simplist elements, and present it successfully to a Magic Valley jury. Because of his proven track record many large corporations have been anxious to settle before trial. However, Mr. DeHaan proceeds through every case with the full intentions of going through a trial, which usually results in more satisfactory settlements.

Harry has two lovely daughters ages 21 and 17. They all enjoy training and showing cow horses.
